Jim Ross began pinstriping and lettering at the age of 21. He always had an interest in custom cars so it seemed only natural that his career choice be a combination of the two. In the early 70's, Scott Montgerard had seen some of Jim's work and approached him with some questions in mind. Scott had been in the trade since he was 19, working for others and himself, before finding a compatible partnership with Jim. Their team has flourished into a widely respected and admired custom paint shop.

Letters, Lines and Designs may not be the most advanced automotive graphics studio, but what they lack in technology is replaced by pure artistic talent. Within the studio itself, beyond the rolls of patterns atop shelves, past the paper cups filled with dabs of paint and rows of brushes, lies another motorcycle, boat, hot rod, or any other vehicle awaiting a new life of color and design,...another vision about to be realized.
